Third party inspection
Third party inspection is essentially required to establish the documents for commercial transaction, based on the quality/quantity of the consignment thus assessed by the Third party inspection agency being appointed mutually by the Buyer and Seller.
This has taken particular significance for international trading through e-business .
Pre-shipment inspection
Pre-shipment inspection is an intermediate exercise which is carried out before effecting shipment/railment of a consignment, aimed to know about the quality of the consignment in respect to its conformity as has been stipulated in the sale/purchase contract. The Pre-shipment inspection and certification exercise is also a statutory requirement framed by Govt. Of India in the event of export from India.
Superintendence of loading & unloading
Superintendence of loading/unloading is carried out
- (i) to ensure systematic loading / unloading of cargo as per programme
- (ii) to ensure that consignment handled does not get contaminated with foreign material.
- (iii) to witness accurate weighment of cargo at the weighbridge.
Quality assessment and certification
Quality assessment is to determine the physical and chemical properties of a consignment and establish the same in the form of document along with other relevant details of the consignment are termed as certification which ultimately stands for commercial negotiation between Buyer and Seller.
